Aloha! It has been a very long time since we updated this blog. Sorry - just not a big blogger but we will try and be better. If you missed the Pahinui Family Concert on August 9, we will be posting pictures soon from that day. Cyil and Chelle did a tremendous job of putting this together with the support of our friends and family.
So much great music and great musicians.
A video of my new band - the Hukipau band will be up on on YouTube soon. The band is myself, Milan Bertosa, Sean Thibadeaux and James Ganeko. A great group of musicians and more important great friends. We have a blast doing the concert starting off with an original called Haleiwa Honky Tonk.
The band is moving toward completing an album by Christmas. We will be selling songs on this web site as well as other venues - please check back for more information.
I want to thank everyone who takes the time to email - it is so wonderful to talk to you and learn more about your experiences and to share my music.
Several folks in particular I want to thank - Wanda and Paul Certo for their friendship - we had a great time this May having lunch in Haleiwa and exchanging stories. Wanda makes the most wonderful cards and scrap books. And Paul plays beautiful slack key. Both have been fortunate to meet and hear many Hawaii musicians playing in the Midwest and East Coast. Catch them on Taro Patch.
Tai Uke in Taiwan who keeps Hawaiian music alive in Asia through playing it and making ukuleles. He just make it through a cyclone that almost wiped out his work shop. Keep going bra!
Check back soon for new photos.
