Aloha! It has been quite a while since we have written but much has been happening.

We are in the middle of producing a short music video to be released in time for Christmas. It will be Blue Xmas - the Elvis Presley song. The video will be a mix of old and new images and put together all on a Mac. It is very cutting edge stuff and should be fun. We want to send out a very big mahalo to our friends Stan, Pat and Louise at Red Rover Creative who are putting it all together. And to Milan Bertosa, Sean Thibadeaux and Bobby Ingano who are helping with the music.

We will also be filming the song live with the band and filming a live version of Waialua Sunset. Both of these video clips will be available later for viewing in 2007.

Up for sale in the next few days will be an EP of 4 Hawaiian songs Bla did in his home studio. They are rough mixes but showcase Bla's love of Hawaiian music and his unique take on their arrangements.

We love hearing from you so please let us know what you think.

Aloha Everyone -

Thank you for your patience - we now have 4 new songs up on the streaming audio player - they are rough mixes, just done in Bla's studio. When they have been cleaned up and made pretty, they will be available for download.

The first is "Waialua Sunset" - an original song written by Bla with words by Sean Thibadeaux. Sean is a very talented singer / guitarist / songwriter who plays with a band called Eleven Gallon Hat; be sure to check out their web site, the link is on our links page.

This is followed by a goofy version of "In The Still of The Night" that was inspired by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the "Monster Mash". This is one of Bla's most favorite old time Doo-Wop songs. When Bla was in the Koolau Boys School, he and some friends won the talent contest singing this song. He thinks two of the other guys were Chop Chop and Rudy Labenia. They made the bigger boys really mad by winning!

Then an old spiritual "A Closer Walk With Thee" followed by a classic Dennis Kamakahi song - "Pua Hone".

We hope you enjoy the new music!

Also our photo album was getting too big so we split into two - one that focuses on music images and one for friends and family. Please send us photos especially of cats!

Aloha Everyone and welcome to Bla's website!

We started this site to share Bla's music with friends and family and to have you share your thoughts with us.

First off we want to thank Rich Tully at Mana Ties for designing the site. Thank you Rich for your patience with us slow moving non-techy types.

Thank you to Milan Bertosa and Sean Thibadeaux who helped Bla whip the first 2 songs into shape with their talent and hard work.

Thank you to our neighbor Bruce Beinert who supplied the clips for the Gabby Pahinui albums. Thank you to Dancing Cat who supplied the clips for Bla's albums, Mana and Windward Heart.

We hope to post new music on a regular basis. It will be rough tracks but we want to engage you in the creative process - please ask questions or send suggestions for other songs. Bla loves his rock and roll as well as his Hawaiian music.

When a song is ready, we will post for downloading for a nominal fee.

Right now we have two songs for your pleasure - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" that can be downloaded for .99ยข and "Away in A Manger" which can be downloaded for free. For each download of this song, we will donate a $1.00 for the prevention of child abuse in the state of Hawaii.

We will also be doing some short music videos in the future that you will be able to view.

Right now, Bla has no plans on playing live but you can reach him at this site.

Thank you for support and we look forward to hearing from you!

PS. If you are a cat lover - please send us your cat photos and we will post. Dog photos are also very welcome!
